Effective October 2026. unecho ("we") is built so that we know as little about you as possible.
Your decode history (the Record), your chats with unecho, what unecho remembers (the people you add, notes, things you told it, daily check-ins), your 30-day plan, PIN, and settings are stored only on your device. You can see, edit or delete all of it in Settings → What unecho remembers. We run no accounts and hold no user database.
When you decode a conversation or chat with unecho, the text (with emails and phone numbers stripped on-device) and the relevant parts of what unecho remembers are sent to our processing service and forwarded to an AI provider to answer. People are sent as roles (for example “ex” or “mom”); your name and the names you give people stay on your phone. Screenshots are read on your phone. Nothing is stored on our servers, and nothing is used to train models. Anonymous community posts you choose to publish are stored with no identifying information.
We use PostHog to understand how the app is used: which screens you visit, your multiple-choice onboarding answers (for example, who you are dealing with), and whether you subscribe. These are linked to a random ID, not to your identity. We also record app sessions as screen recordings so we can find bugs and confusing screens. The conversations and screenshots you paste, and the decoded conversation itself, are hidden from these recordings. A single line you decoded can appear when the app quotes it back to you on the subscription page. Analytics and recordings are used only to improve unecho, never sold, and never used for advertising.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. RevenueCat confirms your subscription status for us. We never see your payment details.
If you found unecho through one of our ads, the app tells Meta and TikTok when it is opened, when the subscription page is shown, and when a purchase is made (with its price), so they can measure those ads. No advertising identifier, name, email, or message content is sent. unecho shows no ads.
Heaven runs on your phone. If you are signed in to iCloud, it also uses Apple's iCloud to show how many people are in the garden right now and to pass on the lights people send: a random code that changes every visit and the time, nothing else. We never see who you are.
If you allow notifications, your phone gives us a push token (a random code from Apple) so we can send you a message, for example when a new version is out or when we reply to you. We store only that token, the app version, and the date. Turn notifications off in iOS Settings at any time.
Messages you send in the in-app support chat reach us through Telegram and are kept for up to 180 days so we can reply to you in the app. Don't include anything you don't want us to read.
If you type your email into the app — to get our weekly email, or so we can answer a support message — we store that address and the choice you made, nothing else about you. We use it only for what you asked for, never sell or share it, and every email has an unsubscribe link. To be removed, reply "unsubscribe" or write to the contact address below.
Your contacts, your precise location, or your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). No data sales, ever.
Delete everything in-app: Vault → Delete everything (or panic-wipe). Because your record lives on your device, deleting the app deletes it. To delete your support messages, email address, or analytics data, write to the contact address below.
